2008
*Dec: CBC Annual Christmas Charity Craft Show
* Nov: Selected by the City of London to supply copper frames for their awards.
* Oct: Won the Gold, second place, for the RCO Ontario 2008 Ontario Waste Minimization Award for the 2nd time
* July: We are really excited to find a group that represents our 'journey' for many years now. GET, Green Enterprise Toronto. Green Enterprise Toronto is a local network of BALLE (Business Alliance for Local Living Economies).
* June: We are honoured to work with Earth Day Canada.
* Apr : We are in the process of expanding our focus to corporate, government, business and other organizations
* Jan-Feb: developing 2 online shops at Zazzle.com, a POD (Production on Demand) company in the US generating royalties on my graphic designs for their merchandise.

2007
- Nov: 2007 CBC Annual Christmas Charity Craft Sale
- Oct: Alter Eco has been referenced in the forthcoming book, "GreenTOpia:
Towards a Sustainable Toronto"
- Oct: Participated in Planet in Focus International Environmental Film and Video Festival, Community Eco Exchange
- Oct: Took 2nd prize in "Ontario 2007 Waste Minimisation Award"
- Aug: Invited to submit several sculptures to RCO's "Ontario 2007 Waste Minimisation Award"
- June: Invited to join Recycling Council of Ontario Advisory Council
also commissioned to make copper award frames.
- May: Played at the Lakeview Lunch open mic with Maria Kasstan
- Jan: The CD titled "Trying to Keep an Open Mind" has been completed

2006
- June: Commission to from Recycling Council of Ontario to make copper award frames
- Apr: Busking at the St. Lawrence Market
- Feb: Regular weekly booth at the  St. Lawrence Market
- Feb: Ontario Government CSS Show

2005
- Nov: 2005 CBC Annual Christmas Charity Craft Sale
- Writing and self-recording songs and poems for 1st CD, "Trying to Keep an Open Mind".
- Aug: Designing graphics for application to various Cafepress merchandise
- July: Recorded a song, "Night Trains", for TV Ontario's "Ontario's Song Contest"
- Apr: Exhibiting at the Arts at the Market, a regular weekly show at the St. Lawrence Market

2004
- Oct: Planet in Focus 2004 International Film & Video Festival Eco Fair
- Aug: Some pieces have been accepted by Metalurge - A Metal Arts Gallery, Toronto
- July: Arts at the Market Outdoor Art Show
- June: Social and Enterprise Development Innovations (SEDI)
 Awards – first runner up for Ontario
- May: Arts at the Market Outdoor Art Show (St. Lawrence Market, Toronto)
- Apr: 2004 Broken Fence Society Annual Juried Environmental Show
- Mar: Regular weekly exhibitor at the historic St. Lawrence Market
- Jan 1 - Alter Eco - Environmental Art commenced as a new business.

2003
- Oct – Jan: Attended a ‘Small Business Training” program (SEDI) for my new business, Alter Eco – Environmental Art, completing our business plan and winning the grant.
- May- Feb (2004): Sold original designs of home accessories weekly at Calico Urban Market in The St. Lawrence Market.

2002
- Sept: Artscape – Art Matters Outdoor Art Exhibition
- July: The first Distillery District Outdoor Art Exhibition

2001
Using the recycled materials, I became a self-taught metal artist and began working on sculptures with materials from building sites and old appliances
- Oct: Showed at the Timothy Eaton Artisan’s Market and The First Unitarian Church in Forest Hill.

1998
Marie began to design jewellery from recycled and found materials, I assisted in preparing materials and forming the structures. We sold to the ROM Shop (Royal Ontario Museum), AGO Shop (Art Gallery of Ontario), and private commissions.

1981
- worked with Toan Klein at Gato Glass for 6 months then went Coda Crystal for 6 months

1981 - 1992
- Sold art and art books as a full-time business and specialized in tribal art.
- Employed in the Housing Industry for 6 years and continued to buy and sell art.
- Marketed stained glass through custom kitchen designers, private commissions, several stores at and Queen’s QuayVillage By the Grange Craft Market.
- supplemented self employment with selling collectibles and art at Habourfront Antique Market

Art Background:

My life-long and unpracticed aptitude for art led me to a Stained Glass class at Paul Winter Art Glass in Edmonton, Alta, 1977. With Marie Van Schie, we began to design original works that were sold to several craft and home furnishing stores and one showing at the University of Alberta Art Gallery. In 1981, moved to Toronto and continued with glass.

General Background

1967 – 1969: Graduated high school, entered business at Ryerson University but joined the Hospitality Industry after two semesters.
1969 – 71: Traveled and worked in Europe
1972 – 74:        “           “      in Western Canada for two years.
1974 – 75: Graduated with first class honours from diploma program in the Restaurant & Hospitality Management at LaSalle College in Montreal. Completed summer program at Cornell University with certificate in H & R with first class honours and elected class president.
1976 - 1980: Continued career in Hotels in Edmonton, Alberta in various middle-management positions.
