This website has two purposes, to sell our artwork - environmental art - and to communicate the importance of sustainable practises in all aspects of our ongoing interests.

My name is John Warren. I am an environmental artist and my business is named Alter Eco. I am self-taught and have been in the Arts & Crafts Industry for 25 years. My growing concern for environmental and social issues has led me to environmental art.

Using recycled and found materials, Alter Eco understands the meaning of a better ‘ecology’, both environmentally and socially.

Our focus is on unique artworks, jewellery, and a gift line of original home accessories. We collaborate on projects with other businesses, from artisans to corporations, and, importantly, to inform and educate.

You are also welcome to join our disscussion forum where your ideas on art and related issues, opinions and information can be shared with others. Open minds and sense of humour also welcome!

Canadians have proven  in not deciding to join Gearge Bush's Ballistic Missile Defence Plan, that we can say "No!" and this has inspired my blog, "Worth Fighting For". This is one small Canadian victory in the endless war of close-mindedness and with sustained effort there will be more!

Yin/Yang; black/white; right/wrong; dark/light; garbage/treasure, it is how you look at it and what you perceive. Our perceptions are constantly being coaxed to benefit the interests of someone else’s idea, not necessarily our own, and this can be good or bad, depending on your needs. And I admit that my intention is to coax you in a good way.

I would consider the work and information in this site to be a success  if it is emotionally, intellectually, and morally stimulating and your curiosity will lead you to discover new visions to act upon.


Alter Eco is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada where we are primarily promoting our work, but we also make our work available to the world at large through the Internet and welcome your enquiries.
